The pages that shape how buyers see you are surprisingly few: two or three comparison roundups, a review-site profile, a competitor's "alternatives" page, the Wikipedia article. When one of them changes — your rating dips, your description gets rewritten, you drop off a list — you usually hear about it from a prospect, mid-deal, quoting it back to you.

modsignal doesn't try to scan the whole internet; it watches the specific pages that matter and tells you when what they say about you changes. That's the opposite trade from Google Alerts: no firehose of irrelevant mentions, total coverage of the pages you named.

Tell each monitor what counts: alert me if our rating or ranking changes, tell me if the section about us is edited, flag it if we're removed from this list. The alert quotes the old framing and the new one, so comms can decide in one read whether it needs a response.

Most teams start with under ten pages — the roundups that rank for their category, their review-site profile, the competitor comparison pages that mention them. Daily checks are the norm; these pages move weekly, not hourly, but the cost of noticing a month late compounds.
