This is the preferred method of authentication for new batch exports, as it avoids having to share long-lived credentials. For Redshift COPY batch exports, an assumed AWS role is also supported for S3 authentication.

+Unfortunately, on 26 September 2026 we're saying goodbye to our product tours tool and it will stop working with all versions of PostHog. Support for product tours will also stop at the same time.

+We're doing this because, while this feature was popular, we ultimately decided that it wasn't a good fit for our mission and that there were more impactful things we could build instead. As we're a small team we need to make these decisions quite firmly, even if they seem counterintuitive from the outside.

+We've informed everyone who was using Product Tours that the service will be removed on 26 September and we'll send a reminder one week before hand.
